Poem: Forgetting

Author: Marija Lazarević

I wanted to touch the sun,
But I caught the dark darkness,
I wanted a butterfly to become
That my dreams are wine,
Under the celestial clear wings.
My body is petrified,
My heart stays cold,
My eyes are pale,
My soul remains simple.

I was looking
for happiness for myself,
I looked wherever I was
Lower the ray of golden sun,
Each rock cold remains
Left out of love,
Happily forgotten,
There is no luck for me anywhere

Like a rock solid rock
In the midst of a storm
And in the midst of a drought,
My heart remained cold
My soul remains simple.
Dark as a rock cliff
Left out of love
Happily forgotten.
